Mumbai. A recent development has cleared the air why Musk billionaire Elon Musk had fired the then CEO Parag Agrawal after he took over Twitter in a much-talked-about deal in October last year. Along with Parag, Musk had also fired other top-level executives of the company and eventually, thousands of employees lost their jobs. It has come to fore that Musk met the company's then-CEO Parag Agarwal over dinner a few months before completing his acquisition of Twitter, but found a key leadership quality lacking in him. This has been revealed by author Walter Isaacson in his biography, who worked with Elon Musk. The Wall Street Journal has published a part of this book, in which the meeting of Elon Musk and Parag Aggarwal was told in March last year.
Parag is a really nice guy, but ....
During this meeting, Elon Musk had told what was lacking in Parag Agarwal. According to a report, Elon Musk said, “He (Parag Agarwal) is a really nice guy, but because of one shortcoming in him, he cannot be liked as a manager.” After this meeting, Elon Musk said, "Twitter needs a fire-breathing dragon and Pollen doesn't have that." This book by Walter Isaacson is going to be published on 12 September. After the meeting between Elon Musk and Parag Aggarwal, there were talks among themselves through messages. Which were released by Twitter in September 2022 as part of a lawsuit filed against Musk.
Musk had indirectly targeted Parag
After the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk, there was a massive retrenchment of employees. Top management people were also involved in this. After Musk bought Twitter, Parag was the first to be shown the way out. Not only this, on many occasions Elon Musk had indirectly targeted Parag Agarwal. However, Elon Musk talked a lot with Parag Agarwal before buying Twitter for $44 billion. Musk raised questions about some technical flaws and coding, on which Parag also agreed and asked Musk for suggestions to improve it.
