Mumbai. Mark Zuckerberg, the world's richest person and CEO, has showered praised on India describing this country as a global leader. Zuckerberg opined that India's people and companies are at the forefront of technology adoption. He was speaking at an event organized in Mumbai. "India is leading the world in terms of how people and businesses have embraced messaging as the better way to get things done," Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a virtual address as he announced new features for WhatsApp at the Meta’s Annual Conversations in Mumbai on Wednesday. “I am particularly excited to be hosting this year's event in India, a country that's at the forefront of a lot of what we're going to talk about today.” he said, adding that he sees messaging is a big opportunity for businesses, something that Meta is very focused on as a company.
Zuckerberg added that the company is looking at building more tools for its messaging products — WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram DMs — based on the trends and how not just people, but also businesses are using these apps. Notably, WhatsApp and Facebook are now part of the Meta company which is headed by its CEO Mark Zuckerberg. WhatsApp announced a partnership with PayU and Razorpay that will enable WhatsApp users to make payments through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI app, etc. Apart from this, Mark Zuckerberg has launched a verification facility for businesses on WhatsApp. Many Indian companies are demanding such facility from them.
WhatsApp's new feature 'Flow'
Mark Zuckerberg also introduced a new feature called WhatsApp Flows during the event which will allow companies to customize and personalize chat. Zuckerberg explained this feature by giving an example.
Lavish expenses on personal security
Meta has increased CEO Mark Zuckerberg's personal security spending by more than $40 million (about Rs 330 crore) in the last three years. A foundation run by the Zuckerberg family has donated millions of dollars to groups that seek to 'discredit the police' and are anti-police groups that the Zuckerberg family funds. This claim has been made in a news published by The New York Post. CZI has increased Mark Zuckerberg's personal security spending by $40 million, according to the company's February filing. $14 million is being spent on security for Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in 2023. Last year, 10 million dollars were spent on Zuckerberg's security. The company has said that Mark Zuckerberg's security costs have increased due to his position at the company and other factors.
