Mumbai. Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly is going to start a new innings by setting up steel factory in West Bengal. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is on a 12-day visit to Spain and Dubai. Sourav Ganguly is part of this delegation. Speaking to a Tv channel, Ganguly said that a steel plant will be set up at Shalboni in West Midnapore. Ganguly said that he will invest 2500 crores for this project and 6000 people will get employment in the first phase. He explained that it will take six months for this factory to take shape and start working. Sourav also thanked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for this opportunity and said, "Some people think that I have only made a career as a player. However, in 2007 we started a small steel plant. Now we are going to start another steel factory in Midnapore in next five to six months."
Sourav Ganguly addressed the 'Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS)' in Madrid. At that time Sourav also said that he will be able to complete the state-of-the-art facility in the next one year. Ganguly on this occasion mentioned the family business started by his grandfather 50-55 years ago and also mentioned how the state government supported him at that time. This state has always invited the rest of the world for business. That is why the Chief Minister is in this country today. Sourav Ganguly also said that it is clear that the government wants to work for the development of the state and the youth.
A contract with a La Liga club in Spain
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has signed an agreement with La Liga in Spain to promote football in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee had a meeting with Xavier Tevez of La Liga. During this meeting, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between the West Bengal government and La Liga. Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Spanish football club La Liga in the presence of Mamata Banerjee, Saurabh Ganguly and Kolkata football chiefs Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan. Banerjee said that this agreement is for further development of football game in Bengal, to produce players. So, La Liga's Tevez said that football can develop if different clubs and political leaders help each other.
