Mumbai. Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy has given a very important statement with regards to increasing productivity. He wants Indian youth to work 12 hours a day so that India can compete with economies that have made tremendous progress in the last two to three decades. Narayana Murthy said this while talking to former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai for the podcast 'The Record'. He said that India's work productivity is among the lowest in the world and to compete with countries like China, the country's youth will have to work extra hours as Japan and Germany did after World War II. India's work productivity is one of the lowest in the world. "Unless we improve our work productivity, unless we reduce corruption in government, because we have been reading about it, I don't know the truth of it, unless we reduce bureaucratic decision-making delays Until then we will not be able to compete with countries that have made tremendous progress," the veteran industrialist echoed.

He also said that our youth should say this is my country, and I would like to work 70 hours a week. This is exactly what the Germans and Japanese did after World War II. He ensured that every German worked extra hours. He said, "Every government is only as good as the culture of the people, and Our culture has to change to a culture of extreme determination, extreme determination. We need to be disciplined and improve our work productivity. I think until we Will not do this, what can the poor government do?"

When asked about his message to the youth of India in the 75th year of independence, he said that for the first time in the last 300 years, India has got some respect in the eyes of the committee of nations. It is the responsibility of every Indian, especially the youth, to strengthen that respect. He said, "I have often said that performance leads to recognition, recognition leads to respect, and respect leads to power. China is a big example of this. So, my request to all the youth of this country is to realize this and work 12 hours a day for the next 20 to 50 years. So that India becomes number one or two in terms of GDP."

Infosys was started in 1981

Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy was born on 20 August 1946 in a middle-class family in Shidlaghatta town of Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka. Murthy earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mysore in 1967 and a master's degree in electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1969. In the 1970s he worked in Paris. He founded Infosys in 1981 with just Rs 10,000 borrowed from his family and six fellow computer professionals. Infosys has now presence in 46 countries.
