Now the effect of this strike can be seen outside the US and many companies in the world have started suffering from this strike. In an agency report, an analyst said that if the ongoing strike in US companies does not end soon, it could have a very bad effect on various companies around the world. In America, many companies in various sectors are already affected by the strike.
7 billion dollar loss so far
The city of Detroit in the US is known as an auto hub. Workers of three major auto companies have been on strike for the past one month. The strike has been called by the trade union United Auto Workers or UAW. This strike has been going on for 36 days. The strike is feared to have cost more than $7 billion so far. American airline Delta Airlines has been hit first by the strike. The company said the ongoing strike in Detroit had a significant impact on its business. Paint and coating company PPG Industries has expressed fears that the strike will affect its profits. Railway company Union Pacific has also expressed fear of losses.
Impact on other companies
Auto companies such as General Motors, Ford Motor and Stellantis have been hit the hardest by this strike. The workers of the companies supplying spare parts to these three companies are on strike in large numbers. Apart from them, trucking companies are also facing problems. More than 34 thousand employees of these companies have participated in the strike. Now this strike is likely to affect the operations of other automobile and aviation companies in the world.
