Mumbai. The investment in mutual funds through the Systematic Investment Plan is getting popular day by day in India. In September, equity mutual funds decreased by 30 percent. In September 2023, there was an investment of Rs 14,091 crore in open-ended equity mutual funds, which was Rs 20,245 crore in August 2023. According to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), the investment in mutual funds through SIO has crossed its all-time record high of Rs 16,000 crore. Amfi said that since March 2021, there has been an increase in net inflows into equity funds for 31 consecutive months. In the month of September, except for large cap funds and ELSS, investment in most funds increased. Equity mutual funds of sectoral or thematic category have seen the highest investment of Rs 3146 crore.
Small cap funds are on the second position
Small cap funds are on the second number in which the investment has increased continuously. Total 2678.47 crore rupees have been invested in small cap funds. However, this is lower than August's inflow of Rs 4264.82 crore. According to Amfi, there has been an investment of Rs 2234.52 crore in multicap funds, Rs 2000.88 crore in mid cap funds and Rs 1353.91 crore in flexi cap funds. Amfi added that the investment made through the Systematic Investment Plan has crossed Rs 16,000 crore for the first time in a single month in the month of September.
Mutual funds industry's AUM Rs 46.58 lakh crore
In the month of August, an investment of Rs 15,245 crore was received through SIP. Awareness has increased among small investors about investing in the market through SIP. Mutual funds have raised Rs 7795 crore through 16 New Fund Offerings (NFO) in the month of September. The mutual funds industry's AUM has increased to Rs 46.58 lakh crore as of September 30, 2023. In which the equity AUM has reached Rs 19.08 lakh crore from Rs 18.6 lakh crore in the previous month.
