Mumbai. Association of Mutual Funds of India (AMFI) has elected its new Chairman and Vice Chairman. HDFC Asset Management (HDFC AMC) MD and CEO Navneet Munot has been elected as the chairman of AMFI, while Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund's Anthony Heredia has been appointed Vice Chairman of AMFI. The new Chairman and Vice-Chairman will take charge from October 16, 2023. Navneet Munot will replace A Balasubramaniam, chief executive officer (CEO) of Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management. A Chartered Accountant and CFA Charter Holder, Munot has over three decades of experience in financial services.

Anthony Heredia, MD & CEO, Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund replacing Radhika Gupta, currently Chief Executive Officer, Edelweiss Asset Management. Heredia is also a Chartered Accountant and has over 26 years of experience in the investment management industry. On his appointment, Munot said, "I am honored to assume the responsibilities as Chairman of Amfi. I am extremely excited about the opportunities ahead for the industry. I look forward to collaborating with my industry colleagues and working under the guidance of our regulator SEBI to take the mutual fund industry to even greater heights." Before joining HDFC, Munot was the chief investment officer at SBI, the country's largest fund house.
