Mumbai. Ever since business tycoon Elon Musk has acquired X (formerly Twitter), troubles have been haunting the company. Now a comment made by Elon Musk has created a new controversy. Actually, X owner Elon Musk made a comment while supporting the anti-Semitic post on the social media platform. Finding this very much offending, many big technology and media companies including Apple, IBM, Disney, Lionsgate and Warner Bros have decided to stop their advertisements on microblogging site X. Even White House also issued a statement criticizing Musk. The White House has said that Musk's answer is unacceptable and endangers the Jewish community. In fact, a post on social media claimed that Jewish people were spreading hatred against white people. Supporting this tweet, Elon Musk wrote, 'Absolutely true'. Many people are not liking his comment.
Apple stopped advertising
According to a report, Apple has decided not to advertise on X. Apple was giving advertisements worth $100 million every year till November 2022. Relations between the two companies were already not good. Now Musk's post has increased the uproar. Following the controversy, film studios Lionsgate, Warner Bros. and Comcast/NBCUniversal have also announced they will stop advertising on X. Apart from this, The New York Times reported that Disney has decided to stop its advertisements on social media platforms. A spokesperson for the motion picture production and distribution company informed, "Lionsgate has paused advertising on X due to Elon Musk's recent anti-Semitic tweets."
European Commission too not happy
The European Commission and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp also said they would remove their advertising from X. Walt Disney Company also talked about stopping ads. Paramount Global announced it was suspending all advertising, while CNBC reported that Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. had also halted advertising on X.
