Mumbai. After social media platform Twitter, Meta has also started Blue Tick paid service on Instagram and Facebook. With this, any Instagram and Facebook users can now get a blue tick on their profile, for this they will have to spend some money. The service of Blue Tick was first started by Twitter, which was reserved only for popular people. Instagram previously allowed people working in media organizations, influencers, celebrities and politicians to put blue ticks in front of their names. Now any user can buy it. Users signing up on the web will get blue ticks only on Facebook, while mobile app users will get blue ticks for both Facebook and Instagram.
Blue tick is a verification badge
This blue tick is a verification badge that indicates that the account is authentic and related to a public figure, celebrity or brand. The company has currently started this service in America, soon this service will be started in other countries as well. The service costs $11.99 per month (Rs 989) if users sign up on the web or $14.99 per month (Rs 1237) if they sign up through the mobile app. To buy blue ticks on Instagram, a user must be 18 years old, submit their photo ID, and go through a verification process.
Changing profile will be easy
Once the user is verified on meta, it will not be easy for him to change his profile name or display name or any other information on the profile. The user will have to go through the verification process again. If media reports are to be believed, users who are already verified on Instagram and Facebook will not have to pay for Meta's paid verification plan. However, the rules are subject to change if Meta plans to get rid of legacy accounts.
