Mumbai. The popularity for Aadhaar based face authentication transactions is continuously increasing in the country and according to the Ministry of Information Technology, face authentication transactions are at an all-time high of 10.7 million in May 2023, which is the highest since the launch of this facility in October 2021. According to data released by the ministry, the number of Aadhar-based face authentication transactions crossed 10 million for the second consecutive month. The number of base based face authentication transactions is continuously increasing and there has been a fracture of 38 percent in this transaction in Kolkata May of January 2023.
47 entities using Aadhar's face based authentication
Aadhaar based face authentication solution prepared by U.S. Documents Documents are being used by 47 entities, including state government participation ministries, as well as central government ministries and banks. Online application for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is done through Aadhaar based face authentication. Apart from this, the electrical license for the farmers and the digital license for the patients are used at the drain house only. Apart from this, based face authentication is being used for bank account through business correspondent along with the attendance of employees in government appointments.
Proving to be extremely convenient
Aadhar–based face authentication is proving to be extremely convenient for senior citizens. In the month of May, UIDAI issued 14.86 million Aadhaar updates to the general public. May has seen 254 million e-KYC transactions. By the end of May 2023 up to 15.2 hrs millions e-KYC transaction has been completed. E-KYC has brought down the cost of customer acquisition for a financial brokerage, telecom service provider company.
