Mumbai. Forbes recently announced the 'Global 2000' list and India's top industrialist Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries has topped the list. Besides, Reliance Industries jumped eight places to settle at 45th position. It was the best position compared to any Indian company. Forbes has announced the list of top 2000 companies in the world for 2023. Sales, profitability, assets and market valuation are taken into account while determining the position in this list. The Forbes list includes three Adani Group companies. Reliance Industries was ranked 45th with sales of USD 109.43 billion and profit of USD 8.3 billion. Reliance has business in various sectors like telecom to mineral oil, retail etc. In this list, Reliance Industries has left the German company BMW, Switzerland's Nestlé, China's Alibaba, America's Procter & Gamble and Japan's Sony behind. Billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani's Adani Enterprises (No. 1062), Adani Power (No. 1488) and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (No. 1598) are on the list.
JP Morgan has topped the list
US's largest bank JP Morgan has topped the list for the first time since 2011. The total assets of the bank are 3700 billion dollars. Last year, Warren Buffett's company Berkshire Hathaway was among the leading companies. However, the company has slipped to 338th position due to portfolio losses this year. Saudi Arabia's company Aramco is in second place. After that, three large public sector banks have secured the position. IT company Alphabet is at the seventh position and Apple is at the 10th position.
What about other Indian companies ?
According to the list, The State Bank of India has moved up from 105th position to 77th position in the 2022 ranking. HDFC Bank is ranked 128th (153 in 2022) and ICICI Bank is 163rd (204 in 2022). Other Indian companies on the list include public sector ONGC 226 and HDFC 232. Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) ranked 363rd. TCS Company's position was 384 last year, this year it has fallen to 387. Axis Bank (423), NTPC (433), Larsen & Toubro (449), Bharti Airtel (478), Kotak Mahindra Bank (502), Indian Oil Corporation (540), Infosys (554), Bank of Baroda (586), Coal India (591), Tata Steel (592), Hindalco (660) and Vedanta (687) are the other Indian companies on the list.
