Mumbai. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi threw open the redeveloped International Exhibition-cum-Convention Center (IECC) in New Delhi on Wednesday evening after performing Havan and Puja. It has been named 'Bharat Mandapam'. The convention center has been redeveloped at a cost of Rs 2,700 crore. The 18th G-20 meeting will be held in this convention center on 9 and 10 September. This complex of government agency India Trade Promotion Organization ie ITPO is spread over 123 acres. IECC is one of the world's leading exhibition and convention centres. The complex is the largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) center in the country. During this, PM Modi said, the world's largest solar wind park, the highest rail bridge, the world's longest tunnel, the world's highest motorable road, the world's largest cricket stadium, the world's tallest statue, Asia's second largest rail road bridge is in India. He said, soon the world's largest museum is also going to be built in Delhi.

PM Modi said that in the third term, India will be one of the first three economies of the world. This is Modi's guarantee. He said that after 2024, the country's development journey will increase rapidly in the third term. The countrymen will see their dreams being fulfilled before their very eyes. Notably, it has a seating capacity of more than 7,000 people and is larger than Sydney's Opera House, which seats 5,500 people. The convention center also has an amphitheater with a seating capacity of 3,000 persons, which is equivalent to three PVR theatres. 100 people can sit together in the meeting room. Parking space for more than 5,500 vehicles has also been provided. Located in Pragati Maidan, Delhi, this convention center of India has joined the top 10 convention centers of the world. It competes with the Hannover Exhibition Center in Germany and the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
Redevelopment started in 2017
The redevelopment of Delhi's Pragati Maidan started in 2017 with an initial deadline of 2019. However work on the site has continued until recently. The project is being executed by state-owned construction company NBCC (India) Limited. Apart from the IECC, the project also includes the construction of a new exhibition hall. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sai Heera Global Convention Center in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh through video conferencing on 4 July. It has been built by the Sathya Sai Central Trust. Prasanthi Nilayam is the main ashram of Sathya Sai Baba. This building has been built in approximately 56 thousand 500 square feet. It has two auditoriums, both with a seating capacity of one thousand people.
