Car costlier and Cancer drug cheaper
Buying a car will become more expensive due to the decision of the GST Council meeting. A compensation cess of 22 percent will be applicable on cars whose length is more than 4 meters, engine capacity is more than 1500 cc and ground clearance is more than 170 mm. Sedan cars are excluded from this. Talking about other important decisions taken in the meeting chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, IGST will no longer be levied on imported cancer drugs. That is, this drug is going to be cheaper. It was already expected that the import of cancer drug Dinutuximab will become cheaper in this GST Council meeting. It has been approved by the government. Meanwhile, currently 12 percent IGST is levied on this, which has been reduced to zero by the Council. One dose of this medicine costs Rs 63 lakh.
Meals to be cheaper in movie theaters
There is one complaint that everyone has after going to movie theaters and that is the food served in theaters. Food and drinks will become cheaper from now. Informing about the decisions taken in this meeting, Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra said that it has been decided to reduce the GST on food and drink items in cinema halls. Prior to this meeting, it was proposed to reduce the GST on food and beverages available in cinemas from 18 per cent to 5 per cent. This proposal has also been approved in the council meeting.
These foods are cheap
After the GST Council meeting, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced the reduction of GST on these items. Among them, GST on uncooked goods has been reduced from 18 percent to 5 percent.
