If we talk about some selected companies, then GoMechanic, which works in the car servicing segment, has announced the removal of 70 percent of its employees. Amit Bhasin, one of the founders of the company, has admitted that the company is facing financial difficulties and hence is laying off 70 percent of its employees. Similarly, an e-commerce company named Dealshare has fired about 100 employees. This is equal to about 6 percent of its 1500 employees. A social media company named MohallaTech operates short video apps like ShareChat and this company has set a target of reducing the number of its employees by 20 percent. The company operates in the quick delivery segment of grocery. Ride service company Ola has also fired 130 to 200 employees recently. The company also works in the electric vehicle manufacturing sector. Earlier in September last year, the company had fired 200 engineers.

Online payment service provider Cashfree has immediately laid off 100 of its employees. The company has taken this decision to reduce the cost. Byju's, one of the most valuable startups in the country, has also laid off a large number of people in the new year. The company says that it will cut 5 percent of its workforce of 50,000 employees.
