But according to the report of 2022, the average price of 1 GB data in India has increased to Rs 13.81.
Israel provided cheapest internet in 2022
Telecom companies have been continuously talking about increasing data tariffs citing spectrum charges and other expenses. If India's data prices are compared with those countries which are in the list of cheap internet, then the logic of telecom companies does not seem right. In 2020, Israel was at number two in terms of cheap internet. At that time the average price of 1 GB data there was Rs 8.94. In 2022 the cheapest internet in the world was in Israel. The average cost of 1 GB data is Rs 3.25. That is, the cost of data in Israel has come down to less than half. Another example is from Italy. In 2020, Italy was ranked fourth in terms of cheap internet. There the cost of 1 GB data was Rs 34.93. In 2022 Italy ranks second in cheap internet. Now the average cost of 1 GB data there is Rs 9.75. That means the prices have come down by 72%.
