Mumbai. Giving relief to the lakhs of taxpayers of the country, the central government has issued a refund of income tax worth Rs 2.40 lakh crore between April 1, 2022 and January 10. This is 58.74 percent more than last year's corresponding period. Giving information about the refund, a statement issued by the government syated that if you haven't received your income tax refund yet, you can check your status. Here you are being informed how you can check your refund. The Income Tax Department allows taxpayers to check their ITR Refund Status and thus anyone can check the status of your income tax return after filing your ITR during the financial year. However, someone can get a refund only until it is processed by the Income Tax Department.
You can check ITR Status Without Login
First of all, go to the e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department and then click on Income Tax Refund Status. Once the new page opens, you will have to enter the acknowledgement number and valid mobile number. Then in the next step you enter OTP and submit it and now the complete status will open in front of you. You can also check income tax return with your user ID and password. For this, you have to go to the e-filing portal and log in with the user and password. After this, you can get complete information by clicking on the ITR status option.
How to get acknowledgment number
You need the acknowledgment number to check the status on the income tax website. Acknowledgement number is sent to you by mail during ITR filing. Also, you can take it by downloading the return receipt after logging in to the Income Tax website.
