Mumbai. South Korean car maker Hyundai launched its flagship Ioniq 5 electric SUV at the ongoing Auto Expo-2023 in Delhi on Wednesday. This premium electric vehicle was unveiled by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at the Auto Expo. The company launched the Hyundai Ioniq 5 at a starting price of Rs 44.95 lakh. The EV will be offered in three different color options – White, Black and an exclusive Matte Silver colour. Apart from the Ioniq 5, Hyundai also showcased the Ioniq 6 EV at the Auto Expo. The drag coefficient of the Ioniq 6 is 0.21, which is the lowest in Hyundai's entire line-up so far. It can be charged from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes. Upon launch, the Ioniq 6 EV will be offered in 2 configurations. The first will be a long range version, which will come with a 77.4 kW battery pack. At the same time, its second version will be launched with a low-range 53 kW battery pack. Its low-range version will give a maximum range of 429km. Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV will be sold in North American and European markets only in 2023.
Will run 621 KM in single charge
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is offered with a 72.6kWh battery pack that offers an ARAI-certified range of 621KM. The Ioniq 5 is based on Hyundai's 800V eGMP platform and the crossover battery pack is positioned between the 2 axles. This car supports rapid fast charging and can be recharged at speeds up to 350kW. The Ioniq 5's battery can recharge from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes when connected to a DC charger that supports those speeds. Its battery pack feeds a single electric motor attached to the rear axle. This car can accelerate from 0-100 Kmph in just 7.4 seconds and has a top speed of 185 Kmph.
Design and Features
Ioniq 5 has been given a very attractive design as it's large crossover reminds you of the hatchbacks of the 1980s. In which there is a mixture of some great modern techniques. It gets parametric pixel-style headlights and taillights. Talking about the interior, a dual display has been given for infotainment and instrumentation above its dashboard. It also has a column-type gear shifter and a memory function for all seats, with the front seats both heated and ventilated. Other features include Vehicle 2 Load, which allows the EV to use a massive power bank, heated ORVMs, hands-free powered tailgate and a Bose sound system.
