In the recently announced Union Budget (Budget 2023), the Central Government has made a huge provision for the Mumbai Local Train Commuters and therefore, many projects will speed up for the convenience of Mumbai local commuters. Considering the upcoming elections, it is said that all the projects being done by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) will be helped in faster completion by getting huge funds. He announced a provision of Rs 2.40 lakh crore for railways in this year's budget. Compared to the year 2013, the railway budget has been increased by 9 times. 13 thousand 539 crores has been provided for the state in the railway budget. In this, about 1600 crore rupees have been provided for the railway project for Marathwada. A provision of Rs 1470.94 crore has been made for Bhusawal division.
MRVC executing rail infra projects Mumbai
Projects are being implemented through the Mumbai Rail Development Authority (MRVC) for Mumbai local commuters. It consists of central and state government funds. In the recently announced Railway Budget, Rs 1101 crore has been sanctioned for 'MUTP' this year. Central Railway has been given a fund of Rs 10,600 crore this year. This fund is 46 percent more than last year. Last year 7 thousand 251 crores of funds were given. 20 crores has been sanctioned for the Belapur-Seawood-Uran line. 10 crore has been allocated for expansion of CSMT Platform No. 10, 11, 12, 13 for 24 coaches.
How much funding for MUTP projects?
According to pink book, Rs 150 crore has been earmarked for projects in MUTP 2 while 650 crore has been sanctioned for projects in MUTP 3 and 300 crore for projects in MUTP 3A. Rs 575 crore was given in last year's budget. A provision of Rs 650 crore has been made this year. If talk about some major projects in execution stage, then 5th and 6th Margika between Parel Kurla, 6th Margika between Mumbai Central Borivali, New suburban corridor between Panvel Karjat, Quadruple between Virar to Dahanu, Borivali Virar 5th 6th Margika, Kalyan Badlapur 3rd 4th route, Harbor line signal upgrade, Goregaon to Borivali Harbor Line Extension, Kalyan Yard Remodeling, Kalyan to Asangaon 4th route and 97 new stabling lines.
