Artificial Intelligence (AI) has affected many aspects of our lives as this is being used for many things like medicine, pricing of houses, assembly of cars, but generative AI that creates unique content is very new. It is the most important technology change after social media. People are surprised by tools like ChatGPT. Hundreds of amazing generative AIs are lined up, from Mid Journey, Stable Diffusion to GitHub's CoPilot. Pricewater House Coopers has estimated that by 2030, AI could add more than Rs 124 lakh crore to the global economy. Microsoft and Google have shifted their corporate strategy to new technology. Microsoft has invested in Open AI, the maker of ChatGPT and Dal-e. Google has also introduced its search chatbot Bard in a hurry.

Wall Street responded swiftly

The US stock market Wall Street has also responded swiftly. Analysts have driven up the stocks of companies that mention AI in their plans and punished those lagging behind in AI, but this spree could prove disastrous. The focus of big tech companies and investors is more on making profits from technology. An example of this is the spread of hate and false information through social media. The boom in artificial intelligence started around 2020. Google, Meta-Facebook and Open AI had started working on AI, but due to some weaknesses, they were hesitant to present their models. Although by July 2022, Open AI's daal-e had more than one million users, but many AI researchers were disappointed with the policy of not allowing Open AI and other AI companies' technology to be seen from afar and not touched.

Stability AI introduced tool called Diffusion

In August 2022, London's new company Stability AI introduced a tool called Diffusion to the public to create stable text and images. The stable quickly became an internet sensation. This stunned Open AI and Google, says investor Nathan Banaich, because the world could use tools that had been secret until now. Open AI then publicly released daal-e2 and chatgpt in November. Users immediately turned to Open AI and rival companies. There was a flood of images created by AI on social media. AI software has started being used in Hollywood films. Chinese tech companies Baidu and Alibaba have announced their chatbots.

Think and learn like humans

Many companies, including Open AI, aim to create artificial general intelligence (AGI) that can think and learn more efficiently than humans. If in the future AI develops the ability to self-correct without human instruction, it will have the potential to destroy humanity. In a 2022 survey of AI researchers, half said the potential for AI to cause such destruction is 10% or more. Here, in some AI labs, many scientists are also involved in the development of AI that is connected to human values. They are designing tools that benefit everyone. AI security organization Conjecture told Time that about 80 to 120 researchers are working on good changes to AI.
