Bangalore continues as before
Meanwhile, last year, Twitter announced that 90 percent of its India office staff would be out of a job by 2022. This affected more than 200 people. Nearly half of employees laid off
Within weeks of becoming the owner of Twitter, Musk laid off nearly half of Twitter's 7,500 employees. His decision also drew criticism. Musk responded to the layoffs by saying that more than half of Twitter's workforce would need to be laid off, as the company would have lost billions of dollars annually. Musk said that he is trying his best to reduce the costs of the Twitter company, which he bought for 44 billion dollars. Notably,Musk took over Twitter in October in a $44 billion deal and rolled out multiple product and organisational changes including Twitter-verified Blue check-mark as a paid service. Within weeks of joining, he also sacked half of the staff of the 7,500-strong workforce.
