Mumbai. Considering pile of huge work amidst taxation days, the Income Tax Department these days is looking for young professionals having knowledge about the subjects of their work. Therefore, of someone have knowledge of topics related to income tax, then they can get a chance to work with the Income Tax Department. This is the first such scheme of the department. The department has recently issued a policy paper regarding this scheme.
Young Professional Scheme
The department has named the campaign as Young Professional Scheme and through this scheme, the Income Tax Department is trying to associate youth with knowledge of law and accountancy. This means that young Chartered Accountants and lawyers may get a chance to directly join the Income Tax Department in the coming days. According to the policy paper, now this scheme will be for two years. Depending on the kind of results the scheme gives in two years, a decision will be taken whether to extend the scheme or not. The Income Tax Department will now recruit 50 such professionals. The department has fixed the maximum age limit of 35 years for accountancy and law professionals joining it under this scheme.
To get 40,000 per month as stipend
According to the policy paper of the Income Tax Department, the young professionals hired under the scheme will help in representing the department on various platforms. Especially in cases of appeals before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, such professionals will help in research and strengthen the arguments of the revenue team. The Income Tax Department says that young professionals joining it under the Young Professional Scheme will be given Rs 40,000 per month as stipend. Once these are placed, the department will assign mentors to each one, who will explain the work of the department to the young professionals. These professionals will study the decisions given by different benches of ITAT in different cases. At present, 63 benches of ITAT are functioning at 27 places across the country.
