Mumbai: Reliance Industries, one of the largest companies in the country, held its 46th Annual General Meeting on August 28, 2023 wherein company's Group CEO Mukesh Ambani outlined that India will become a fully developed country by 2047. He gave information about the company's plans for the coming year, besides making big announcements in the AGM. He said that the company has invested 150 billion dollars in the last 10 years and this is a huge amount compared to any other corporate company. Reliance has improved the lives of millions of people during this period. This is the new Reliance, the leading technology company of the new age. Ambani also said that New Reliance is paving the way for a new India and democratizing technology with tech manufacturing.
Everyone will be prosperous in India
Ambani said, "India wants to become a developed nation by 2047. We want to create a country where everyone will be prosperous in this country. India's per capita income will soon reach 10 thousand dollars. Reliance Industries has contributed Rs 1,77,173 crore to the government exchequer. 1271 crores worth of CSR work has been done in the last one year. So, 2.6 lakh people have been given employment. Reliance is leading in revenue, profit, exports, market capitalization, employment generation, CSR activities etc."
50 million 5G subscribers
Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of Jio Air Fiber on September 19, the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, while speaking at Reliance Industries' AGM. Jio had launched 5G in the month of October last year. Now, there are over 50 million 5G subscribers. Reliance Jio aims to roll out 5G services across the country by the end of this year. Even now 25 crore Indians are using 2G internet services. For them Jio has launched 4G InBelt Jio Bharat mobile phone. The price of this phone is 999 rupees. UPI payments can be made from this mobile phone. The AGM expressed confidence that this will bring more new customers to Jio. Mobile customers are increasingly opting for Jio. Jio's mobile number porting rate is five times higher than its nearest rival telecom company.
