Mumbai. Addressing the nation on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi (PM Modi) had announced the Vishwakarma Yojana for people with traditional skills, small entrepreneurs. Days after his announcement, this scheme has been approved by the Union Cabinet along with other important decisions. Accordingly, the Vishwakarma scheme will be implemented from September 17, the day is the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma. Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed about the important decision taken by the Union Cabinet and said that Vishwakarma Yojana has been approved by the cabinet. He said that under this scheme, people with traditional skills will be given financial assistance. This includes people with traditional skills such as goldsmiths, blacksmiths, barbers and tanners and a loan of up to one lakh rupees will be given as per certain conditions.
Artisans and craftsmen to get benefits
Vishwakarma Yojana will focus on improving the quality of products and services of artisans and craftsmen, improving them and making these products accessible to the people both domestically and globally. On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced several schemes while addressing the nation from the Red Fort. Vishwakarma Yojana was also one of them. In his speech from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the 'Vishvakarma Yojana' will be launched on the day of Vishvakarma Jayanti in the coming days to give new strength with Rs 13-15 thousand crores. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister also said that the government will help people with traditional skills through this scheme. It will involve people with traditional skills such as goldsmiths, blacksmiths, barbers and tanners to help them grow their businesses.
Pradhan Mantri E-Bus Yojana approved
PM E-Bus Seva Yojana has also been approved by the Union Cabinet. This scheme is worth Rs 57,613 crore and out of this, Rs 20,000 crore rupees will be given by the central government, while the rest of the funds will be provided by the respective state governments. The scheme will help bus operators for 10 years. These buses will be procured under the PPP model. A tender process will be conducted and this scheme will run till 2037. Minister Anurag Thakur informed that there will be an opportunity for private companies in such a situation. Thakur also said that this scheme will be started on priority in those cities where there is no public bus transport. He claimed that this scheme will create employment for 45 thousand to 55 thousand people.
