Mumbai. Anant Ambani, who was recently appointed as Executive Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), will earn between ₹10 to ₹20 crore annually. Alongside his salary, he will also be entitled to commissions based on company profits and other executive benefits, according to a report by PTI. The appointment was formalised on June 25 and his five-year term officially began on May 1. Prior to this, Anant had served as a Non-Executive Director since 2023.

Active role across Reliance verticals

Anant Ambani has been involved in several verticals of the Reliance group. He took charge of the company’s energy business in August 2022. He also holds board positions in Jio Platforms Limited since March 2020, Reliance Retail Ventures Limited since May 2022, Reliance New Energy Limited and Reliance New Solar Energy Limited since June 2021. Additionally, he has been part of the Reliance Foundation board since September 2022, which is the group’s philanthropic arm.

On December 28, 2023, marking the birth anniversary of his father Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh Ambani emphasized the future of the company rests with his children — Akash, Isha, and Anant — expressing full confidence in their ability to take Reliance to greater heights than his own generation.

Akash Ambani, who graduated in economics from Brown University in 2014, joined the family business the same year. He became a board member of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd in October 2014 and took over as its Chairman in June 2022. He also serves on the boards of Jio Platforms Limited, the digital services wing of Reliance, and Reliance Retail Ventures. He is married to Shloka Mehta and has two children.

Isha Ambani, educated at Yale and Stanford, entered the family business in 2015. She currently holds board positions in Reliance Retail Ventures, Jio Infocomm, and Jio Financial Services. Isha married Anand Piramal in December 2018. She has been instrumental in expanding Reliance Retail, launching ventures like Ajio for e-commerce and Tira in the beauty segment. The company now has a strong presence in food, consumer electronics, and fashion.
