This feature of IndiGo is currently in testing mode
Through this feature, female passengers can choose the seat next to other female passengers according to their comfort. However, this feature tells about the seats booked by female passengers only during web check-in. This feature of IndiGo is currently in testing mode. Through web check-in, a passenger can complete the check-in process from a computer or smartphone without going to the airport check-in counter. Generally, for domestic flights, one can check-in online 48 hours before the departure time. It closes 2 hours before takeoff. However, web check-in for international flights usually starts 24 hours before the departure time and closes 60 minutes before takeoff. It is important to note that the web check-in time limit may be different for different airlines.
Seat selection for children rule also changed
Recently, rules were also issued regarding seat selection for children under 12 years of age. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had said that airlines will have to allocate seats to children under 12 years of age with parents or guardians in the flight. DGCA said that if children and parents are traveling on the same PNR, then they will not have to pay any extra charge for seat selection. Along with this, DGCA had also asked the airlines to maintain its record. The civil aviation regulator took this step after several cases of children below 12 years of age not being seated with their parents or guardians. Many passengers shared such experiences on social media platform X.
