Mumbai. America's famous publishing and media company Time Magazine has released the list of the most influential companies in the world in which three Indian companies have been featured in this annual list for 2024. It includes Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Tata Group and Adar Poonawala's Serum Institute of India (SII). This is the fourth edition of Time List of World's 100 Most Influential Companies. Its complete list will be published in the June 10, 2024 issue of Time. Time Key This list is divided into five categories. It includes Leaders, Disruptors, Innovators, Titans and Pioneers categories. Overall, 20 companies have been included in each category. Reliance and Tata Group have been named in the Titans category, while Serum Institute of India has been selected for the Pioneers category.
'India's Juggernaut' title goes to Reliance
This is the second time that Time has included Mukesh Ambani's company in its list. Earlier in 2021, Jio Platform was included in Time's Top 100 Most Influential Companies list. At the same time, Time Magazine has also given the title of 'India's Juggernaut' to Reliance. It was written about Reliance in the magazine that Reliance started as a textile and polyester company today as a big business group. It is also the country's most valuable company with a market capitalization of over $200 billion. The company has many businesses including energy, retail and telecom. Time Magazine has also mentioned the Reliance and Disney deal. The magazine says the $8.5 billion deal will strengthen Reliance's hold on India's fast-growing streaming market.
Reliance's profit crossed ₹ 1 lakh crore
Reliance Industries' profit before tax has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore. Reliance is the first Indian company to do so. Further, the company has registered a record annual income of Rs 10 lakh crore in FY 2024 (April 2023- March 2024). Reliance has announced its results for the fourth quarter (January-March) of the financial year 2023-24 on April 22. The board of the company has also approved a dividend of Rs 10 per share. Companies pay some share of profits to their shareholders, called dividends.
Tata Group also features in the list
The Tata Group from India has also been given a place in the time key list, to which Time described as one of India's oldest companies. Its vast portfolio spans from steel, software, watches and chemicals to salt, grains and air-conditioners. In 2023, it became the first Indian company to assemble the iPhone. In February 2024, Tata's joint market capitalization reached 365 billion dollars.
The Serum Institute also hit the headlines
Time Magazine has included Serum Institute of India as the world's largest vaccine manufacturing company. The company manufactures 3.5 billion doses every year, including measles, polio and HPV. Serum Institute of India vaccines saved lakhs of lives during the Covid outbreak.
