Whereas the Prime Minister has many types of government facilities which includes official government accommodation, Special Protection Group (SPG) security, government vehicle and aircraft facilities, government fare for international trips, accommodation and meals. Prime Ministers in India get many benefits even after retirement. The most important of these facilities is that the former prime minister also gets free government housing, electricity, water and SPG facilities for five years during this period.
What is the salary and benefits of the President?
The President is a very important post in Indian democracy, who is also the supreme commander of the country. The President of India gets a salary of Rs 5 lakh per month. Apart from this, the President also gets many tax free allowances which includes free round-the-world train and air travel, free housing, medical services and Rs 1 lakh per year for office expenses. The former president also gets a pension of Rs 1.5 lakh per month, a government house, two free landline phones, a mobile phone and five personal staff.

An MP in India gets a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month. Apart from this, there is also a daily allowance, which increases every five years. Any MP in India gets a travel allowance of Rs 2,000 per day for attending Parliament sessions, committee meetings and Rs 16 per kilometer for travel. Apart from this MPs also get constituency allowance of Rs 45,000 per month and office expenses allowance of Rs 45,000, which includes Rs 15,000 for stationery and postage.
