The government has announced over 20 lakh job vacancies on the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, marking the first time the portal has seen such a high number of listings. On July 30, 2024, the Ministry of Labor and Employment revealed that the total vacancies on the portal surpassed 20 lakh.

- Operations and Support: 1.08 lakh
- Service Sector Activities: 0.75 lakh
- Manufacturing: 0.71 lakh
- Transport and Storage: 0.59 lakh
- IT and Communication: 0.58 lakh
- Education: 0.43 lakh
- Wholesale and Retail: 0.25 lakh
- Health: 0.20 lakh
The Ministry highlighted that the portal currently offers a diverse range of vacancies across various sectors, providing ample opportunities for both freshers and experienced professionals.

Most jobs listed on the NCS portal are tailored for youth with educational qualifications ranging from 12th grade to ITI and Diploma. Additionally, there are specialized opportunities for individuals with higher education and expert qualifications. Enhanced Features with NCS 2.0
The National Career Service Portal has recently been updated to NCS 2.0, incorporating Artificial Intelligence to enhance its functionality.
