Companies are increasing their spending to increase demand. Realme has already announced that it will offer a discount of Rs 2700 crores for the entire festive season. Last year the company had spent Rs 500 crore.

Smartphone makers are lined up

Officials said Samsung and Xiaomi are going to increase spending significantly compared to last year amid stiff competition in the mobile phone market. Electronics brand Haier is going to spend 100 crores on advertising and promotion this festive season, while appliance industry market leader LG India is increasing the festive spend by 20-25% compared to last year. Deepak Bansal, Vice President, LG India said that the festive season this year is very important as demand is expected to increase. Satish NS, President, Haier India, said that all efforts will be made to revive sales with its massive expenditure on consumer promotion and marketing. Inventory is being prepared in anticipation of good business.

Discounts of up to Rs 10,000 on smartphones

Realme said that it will offer discounts of up to Rs 10,000 on smartphones and Rs 12,000 on electronic products. The demand for smartphones, TVs and electronic devices used in homes has slowed since February due to inflation, shopping for clothes, eating out, spending on vacations.
