Mumbai. Passenger vehicle sales in India, which had slumped over the past two years, have finally recovered to pre-pandemic levels. In September 2022, car companies sold 3,55,946 units of passenger vehicles (PV) which is a new record in terms of monthly sales. In August, 2,81,210 cars were sold. During this period, Maruti Suzuki sold 1.48 lakh cars securing no 1 spot. At the same time, the three companies Hyundai, Tata and Mahindra together could sell 1.31 lakh vehicles.Mahindra grew 163% in September 2022 as compared to September 2021. The company sold 13,134 cars last year, so this year 34,508 units were sold.
Sale at pre-corona phase
For the last 2 years, there was a decline in car sales due to Corona. But there was a growth of 121% in September 2022 as compared to September 2021. In September 2021, 1,60,070 cars were sold. At the same time, 2,71,027 cars were purchased in September 2020, 30% less than this time. In September, Maruti Suzuki sold the highest number of 1,48,380 PVs. Hyundai came second with 49,700 sales and Tata was third with 47,654 sales. Mahindra sold 34,508 and KIA 25,857 units during this period. Both companies ranked fourth and fifth. 5 companies did not share data
Only the top-11 car making companies out of 16 shared their data for September 2022. Renault India, FCA, PCA Motors, Force Motors and Isuzu Motors did not share their data. These 5 companies sold 11,124 cars last month. At the same time, in August, he had sold 9,235 cars. Maruti Suzuki sold 29,574 units of Alto and S Preso last month. The car sold 72,176 units of Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and Wagon R. At the same time, a total of 32,574 units of the Brezza, Ertiga, S Cross, XL6 and Grand Vitara were sold.
