Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) with the aim of taking banking facilities in India to the last person of the country. PM Modi inaugurated 75 digital banking units in 75 districts of the country including 2 digital banking units of Jammu and Kashmir through video conferencing. On this occasion, PM Modi while wishing all the countrymen said that the Digital Banking Unit is a moving step towards modern India. These services will be free from paperwork, writing and other hassles. These digital banking services will be easier than ever. This will make everything easier from sending money to taking loans in villages and small towns.
The gap between the bank and the poor will end
PM Modi said that our objective is to improve, strengthen and bring transparency in the banking system. Empowerment of the people is the goal of our government. Now the banks themselves will go to the houses of the poor, for this we have to reduce the distance between the bank and the poor. Today, more than 99% of the villages in India have some or the other bank branch, banking outlet or banking friend within five km. Digital Banking Units is another big step in that direction which is going on in the country to make the lives of Indians easier. This is such a special banking system, which will work to provide maximum services with minimum digital infrastructure.
No longer need to go to the bank
With the introduction of digital banking units, you will no longer need to go to the bank for opening savings accounts, printing passbooks, investing in various bank schemes and for loans. Now this facility is going to be available near the house itself. Let us tell you that in the budget speech this year, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced plans to open 75 digital banking units in 75 districts of the country to commemorate 75 years of independence.
