Mumbai. In the coming times, the range of electric vehicles will no longer be a problem. In fact, companies are emphasizing on increasing the charging infrastructure. For this, auto sector companies are tying up with companies setting up charging infrastructure for a better range of their vehicles. In this episode, Mahindra & Mahindra has come with Jio BP. The auto sector giant has tied up with Reliance Industries' company Jio-BP to set up a charging network for its upcoming electric SUV. With this, fast chargers can be prepared for vehicles at many places across the country.
Both firms issue joint statement
Both the companies have said in a joint statement that under the agreement, Jio BP will install DC fast chargers in Mahindra & Mahindra's dealer network and workshops across the country. Initially, fast charging stations will be installed in 16 cities of the country. On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra said that the company is going to introduce a complete range of electric vehicles in the coming time. For this, charging infrastructure will be required. And to provide fast charging facility to its customers, the company has tied up with Jio BP. Mahindra & Mahindra introduced the XUV400, its first SUV in the electric segment, earlier this month.
Easier to travel on long journeys
On the other hand, Jio BP, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and BP, is focused on expanding its charging infrastructure in the country. Presently, the JV is expanding the Jio BP Pulse branded EV charging network by setting up new charging stations on major highways. With the new agreement, the companies hope that it will be much easier for customers to travel on long journeys with an electric vehicle as they will start getting charging stations before the battery runs out of power, where they will be able to charge the battery faster.
