What is the reason behind this price hike ?
Mother Dairy has attributed the hike in prices to the increase in the cost of procuring raw milk from dairy farmers. Mother Dairy spokesperson says that this year a huge gap is being seen in the demand and supply of milk in the entire dairy industry. The company said raw milk availability has been affected due to increased cost of feed and fodder and erratic monsoon putting pressure on raw milk prices. Apart from this, the demand for processed milk has also increased.
Last price hike was on Oct 16
Mother Dairy said the revision in prices will enable the company to continue supporting farmers with fair remuneration while ensuring quality milk for consumers. Mother Dairy gives milk producers about 75-80 per cent of the price paid by consumers.
