Mumbai. Hotel bookings in the country during March to May this year may cross the pre-Covid-19 pandemic levels. Indian Hotels Corporation Limited (IHCL) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Puneet Chatwal has said so. The head of Tata Group's hospitality firm said the long-term outlook of the industry is going to be far more positive than it was five to ten years ago. It is noteworthy that international flights are resuming from 27 March.
Puneet Chatwal has said, “What we are experiencing in the last four to six weeks is a very strong revival. I can say with certainty that the region's turnover in March, April and May will be higher as compared to the corresponding period of 2019." He said that the main reason for the revival in the industry is domestic demand, as only a limited number of international flights are operating due to the bio bubble. "There is still time to resume operations of international flights but domestic demand is very strong," Chatwal said.
