Mumbai. With the beginning of the month of June, many changes have come into force. Along with this, the Reserve Bank has also released the list of public holidays of the country's banks. This time in June, banks will be closed for as many as 12 days. In such a situation, if you are thinking of visiting the bank, then it is advised to check the list of holidays first. According to the chart released by RBI, in June, in addition to 6 week holidays, i.e. Saturday-Sunday, 6 more days of banks will be closed. These holidays will be applicable not only to public sector banks but also to private, foreign, cooperative and regional banks.

RBI fixes bank holidays in three categories every year. This includes first, categories like Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, second Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday and third Banks Closing of Account.

Different states have different leaves

Although the list of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank is applicable equally to all the banks of all the states, but some holidays are applicable exclusively in one or more states only. The same rules will be applicable this month as well, due to which many holidays will be celebrated in a particular state instead of being in the whole country. This time too, there will be special occasion holidays in many states. In such a situation, banks will remain open except in that state.

In total there are four Sundays and two Saturdays in June. Since banks are closed on 2nd and 4th Saturdays, only 6 holidays will be available on Sundays and Saturdays. This month, 5th June will be Sunday, 11th June will be second Saturday, 12th June will be Sunday, 19th June will be again Sunday, 25th June will be fourth Saturday and 26th June will be Sunday.

Banks will remain closed for 6 days even on other holidays

* June 2 is Maharana Pratap Jayanti and Telangana Foundation Day. Banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Telangana on this occasion.

* June 3 is the martyrdom day of Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji and on this day only banks will remain closed in Punjab.

* On June 14, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sant Guru Kabir, there will be holidays in Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab and Odisha.

* 15th June is the birthday of Raja Sankranti and Guru Hargobind ji. Due to this, there will be no work in the banks of Odisha, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir.

* Banks will remain closed in Tripura on June 22 on the occasion of Kharchi Puja.

* On 30th June, there will be bank holidays only in Mizoram due to the Ramna Ni festival.
