Mumbai. Google has announced the launch of the 'Startup School India' initiative to enable startups in India's smaller cities to meet challenges. Google expects this program to benefit 10,000 startups operating in small and medium cities i.e. Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Through this, an attempt will be made to integrate the collected information into a systematic curriculum to enable the startups to meet the challenges.
Nine weeks online program
Giving information about this in a blogpost, Google said that in this nine-week 'online' program, its representatives will interact with the actors of startup companies. These will include startups related to fintech, business to business (B2B), business to consumer e-commerce (B2C), language, social media and networking, besides 'job search'.
India is 3rd largest center for Start-up
There are currently around 70,000 startups in India and it is the third largest center for startups in the world. In the last few years, with many startups turning into successful businesses, the trend of young entrepreneurs has also increased towards it. The special thing is that in the case of startups, along with big cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad, small cities like Jaipur, Indore, Gorakhpur are also not behind. At present, nearly half of the total startups are located in smaller cities.
90% startups fail in the first five years
Along with this, Google also said that about 90 percent of startups fail in the first five years. Mismanagement of cash, mismanagement of demand assessment, ineffective feedback, lack of leadership have been the reasons for this failure. Google said that to help startups overcome these flaws, a program called Startup School India is being launched. In this, startup founders can take advantage of the experience associated with successful businesses.
