In view of this, many luxury brands are also launching their electric cars in India. On 26 July Volvo India launched the assembled XC40 recharge electric SUV in India and bookings started on its official website at 11 am on 27 July. Surprisingly, all its units were sold out within 2 hours of the start of booking. According to the company, all 150 units of the Volvo XC40 Recharge in the Indian market were sold out within two hours. Their delivery will start in October this year.

Volvo India, which works with the Swedish company, is planning to deliver all 150 units of the Volvo XC40 Recharge by December 2022. Also, the bookings for this luxury electric SUV are still on, but their deliveries will not happen this year. The bookings for the deliveries that were to take place for this year have already been done.
Price starts from Rs 55.90 lakh
The XC40 Recharge is the first luxury electric vehicle to be assembled in India. It has been assembled at the company's Hosakote plant near Bengaluru in Karnataka. It is worth noting that the new Volvo XC40 recharge has been launched at a starting price of Rs 55.90 lakh. It has become the cheapest luxury electric SUV in the country.
Top speed of 180 kmph
It has been given two electric motors, which generate 402Bhp power (combined) and 660Nm peak torque. This electric SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds, while its top speed is 180 kmph.
80% charge in 40 minutes
The XC40 Recharge packs a 78kWh lithium-ion battery. Volvo claims that it can deliver a range of 418 km on a single charge. It can be charged 0-80% in just 40 minutes with the help of a 150kW DC fast charger. At the same time, it will charge in eight hours on the standard 11kW AC charger.
