Mumbai. Wipro Q1 Results: IT giant Wipro has announced its first quarter results for the financial year 2022-23. However, the company's financial results for the quarter have come in contrary to the market estimates. In the first quarter of the current financial year, the company's profit has declined by about 21 per cent to Rs 2,563.6 crore. Whereas in the same quarter last year, the company's profit was Rs 3,242.6 crore. At the same time, there has been a decline of 16.96 percent in profit compared to the previous quarter.
Profits declined but revenue increased
However, Wipro's revenue grew by 15.51 per cent in this quarter. Wipro's revenue stood at Rs 22,001 crore as against Rs 19,045 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company said that in the quarter, the company has secured 18 major deals worth $ 1.1 billion.
Jobs given to 10,000 freshers
According to Wipro, the number of employees leaving the company has come down in this quarter. The attrition rate in the April-June quarter was 23.3 per cent, down from 23.8 per cent in the previous quarter. However, in the first quarter of the last financial year, the attrition rate was only 15.5 per cent. That is, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of people leaving the job in a year. The company said that a total of 15,446 new people have been recruited in this quarter of which 10,000 are freshers.
