Mumbai. Anant Ambani, youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and wife Nita, is soon going to marry Radhika Merchant, daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and his wife Shaila. Anant and Radhika's 'roka' took place in a traditional ceremony at Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan on Thursday in the presence of family members and friends. A statement issued by the family said that after the engagement, Anant and Radhika spent the day at the temple seeking Lord Shrinathji's blessings for their future. However, the date of marriage has not been announced by the family yet. Mukesh Ambani has three children in which Akash and Isha are twins and Anant is the youngest. His daughter Isha married Piramal Group heir Anand Piramal in December 2018 and very recently they became parents to twins, Aadiya and Krishna. Mukesh Ambani's elder son Akash married Shloka, daughter of diamond merchant Russell Mehta, in March 2019. His two year old son is Prithvi.
Anant Ambani heads the energy business
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani, has studied at Brown University in America. He heads the energy business of oil-to-telecom-to-retail conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited. Anant is also on the board of Jio Platforms, the group's telecom and digital company, and Reliance Retail Ventures. Radhika Merchant is a director on the board of Encore Healthcare. In August this year, Mukesh Ambani had informed about plans to make youngest son Anant the successor in India's most valuable company, with Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani for the telecom and retail leadership and the new energy unit.
Anant is also the director of RRVL
Mukesh Ambani had said at the annual shareholders meeting of Reliance Industries Limited in August, “Akash and Isha have held leadership roles in Jio and Retail respectively. He has been passionately involved in our consumer businesses since inception.” Ambani had said that Anant has also joined our new energy business with great enthusiasm. In fact, he is spending most of his time in Jamnagar. Anant Ambani was also recently inducted as a director in Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL). He is a director in Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) since May 2020.
