Mumbai. There is good news for the air travelers of the country. Domestic airline company Air India has announced plans to start 24 additional flights in the country. Air India says that it will start operating these additional flights from August 20. It has said that out of the 24 additional flights that will be operated, two will be from Delhi to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad and from Mumbai to Chennai and Hyderabad. Apart from this, new flights will also be started on Mumbai-Bengaluru and Ahmedabad-Pune routes.
16 more aircraft will come in service next year
According to a report, Air India Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Campbell Wilson said that they have been working closely with our partners for the last 6 months to bring the aircraft back into service. "We are glad that this effort is yielding better results. Let us tell you that the fleet of Air India includes 70 aircrafts. In which 54 are currently running. The remaining 16 aircraft will come into service in early 2023," he said.
Decision taken after announcement of removal of air fare cap
Air India has taken the decision to operate additional flights a day after the Civil Aviation Ministry's statement that the cap imposed on airfares due to Kovid-19 will be removed in the year 2020. After this decision of the Aviation Ministry, airline companies like Air India, Vistara, SpiceJet, Indigo and GoFirst will be able to increase the prices of their tickets. Notably, in order to prevent the arbitrariness of airlines during the Corona period, the government had fixed the maximum and minimum fare of tickets and due to this, airline companies cannot keep the price of tickets on a particular route more than a certain upper and lower limit.
